Fall 2023 Fashion Report: 5 Trends to Shop Now
/Hi fashion friends! Fall is right around the corner! That’s right…the temps are going to start to become cooler and we can look forward to cozy outfits with sweaters, coats, and boots. After a temperature record-topping summer, I know my Texas babes will be ever so grateful to leave behind the heat and trade that for some crisp fall air. But before the seasons change, we need to look ahead and plan out our fall wardrobes. First, we decide on what trends you want to add into your wardrobe.
Before every season, my suggestion would be to do a closet edit to make sure you are starting the season on the right foot. Go through every single item in your closet. Look at everything with an edited eye. Do you wear everything on a regular basis? Are there stains or holes on your pieces? Does everything fit right now? (There’s nothing worse than having a closet full of items you can’t actually wear.) Really go through each item and make a decision on what stays and what goes. Be brutal! From here, make a list of what you’re missing in your wardrobe, like dark wash jeans or knee high boots. This will make it super easy for you to know what to shop for for the coming season. Then I can guide you on what trends to try and what items to buy for every season.
That being said, everyone’s style is so different! Each client I work with will never look like another client. I style each individual according to their unique personality and taste level. That’s the fun part about what I do. It’s never the same and everyone is always evolving. This allows me to continuously create new looks for my clients that are customized to them!

RED
As the IT color of the season, you’re about to see red everywhere this fall! This hue was all over the runways and you’ll soon witness it all around stores near you (if not already). A major plus by wearing this color is that it is also universally flattering on everyone! If I were you, I would adopt this trend early to be ahead of the curve. Red pairs perfectly with neutrals. Your wardrobe will thank you!

BALLET FLATS
I know what you’re thinking…Tenni, ballet flats have been around forever. And while they are indeed a wardrobe staple, this style of shoe did take a bit of a hiatus from its heyday in the mid 2000s. This fall they are back and better than ever. Mesh and sparkle and leather, oh my! Every and any iteration is out there in abundance and at every price point. If you were thinking of dabbling back into the trend, this would be the season. Ballet flats are going to be this fall’s IT shoe!

CINCH-WAISTED BLAZERS
Last season, the oversized blazer was the one to buy. This season, we’re looking at a more form fitting iteration. One trend that won’t overwhelm my 5’3 frame! This lends to the Power Dressing trend we’ve seen for the past few years. Strong and confident!

SILVER
The Millennium is back! This Y2K trend has returned with a vengeance. I’ve already seen silver on so many influencers and street style stars this summer. I would have never thought I’d be into it, but I am surprisingly looking forward to adopting this for myself and clients this season!
Stylist Note: this is the one trend above I would say to test from a fast fashion retailer first, like a Zara or Gap, to make sure you consistently wear the trend before investing at a higher price.

SUPER-SIZED BAGS
Vogue deemed this the biggest bag trend of the season. If Vogue says so, I listen! After seasons of seeing mini bags everywhere, we re-introduce practicality back into the mix. For me, my bag is my life line. I move about my day and pray I’ve put everything I could possibly need in my purse. Totes like these get the job done!
